As the GiveMN effort approaches, we ask that you consider giving to HPAAC!

Our organization, with the help of artists, lovers of the arts, and community support help us give back to Hastings and Prescott.
We provide scholarships for students to continue music and art lessons; investor in the Orange Dragon Art Gallery; we support the local writers guild in Hastings; not to mention numerous events with the River Valley Band and concerts at Hastings Arts Center.

As you know the location of Shrek has changed from the Hastings HIGH School to the Hastings MIDDLE School at 1000 11th St. W; Hastings, MN 55033. Please be sure to remind anyone that you typically go with that it is at the Middle School!

With this, the number of tickets that we typically sell each night, is the number that we have in the space, so the number of tickets that we will have available at the door will be limited!

Get your tickets ahead of time online or at the Hastings YMCA if you know when you are going to be joining us.

“Thursday Musical” Community Concert

Hastings Arts Center and HPAAC are proud to host a Thursday Musical Community Concert.

Minnesota’s finest classical musicians in concert will present:
Max Radloff on piano, Mary Kirchner mezzo-soprano, and Jim Reilly accompanist.

Thursday Musical is one of the oldest performing arts organizations in the Twin Cities. Founded in 1892. Its mission is to celebrate our area’s wealth of artistic musical talent by featuring local classical musicians in concert. Thursday Musical presents three concert series: the Thursday Morning Artist Series, the Home Concert Series and the Community Concert Series. The Thursday Morning Artist Series presents concerts twice a month in beautiful Antonello Hall at MacPhail Center for Music. The Home Concert Series presents intimate concerts in the homes of Thursday Musical members. In the Community Concert Series, partners with local churches, community centers and retirement communities to bring our artists across the metropolitan area. Presentation at LeDuc Historic Estate

The City of Hastings is committed to preserving its historic resources, including homes,  churches, commercial buildings, landscapes, bridges, archeological and geological sites.

According to the website, hastingsmn.gov “there are approximately 170 locally designated properties in the City of Hastings. Some of the properties are in historic districts and 63 are on the National Register of Historic Places.”

Justin Fortney, City Planner for the City of Hastings works with the citizen volunteers who make up the Heritage Preservation Committee (HPC).  On August 9, Justin will speak to The Friends of LeDuc and Historic Hastings about the function and history of the HPC.

He will also talk about the 36th Annual Statewide Historic Preservation Conference, to be held September 7-9 in Hastings.

The public is invited to attend the presentation at 7 p.m. in the parlor of the LeDuc Historic Estate.

Announcing Hastings Arts Center Grand Opening

The grand opening weekend of the new Hastings Arts Center will be:

Friday night, April 10th with doors open at 6:30 pm

Saturday April 11th from 9:00 am-­5:00 pm

Sunday April 12th from 12:00pm-5:00pm

Come enjoy a full weekend of live music, class demonstrations, art displays and tours of the newly renovated Hastings Arts Center.  Registration for summer sessions will also be available.
