The Hastings River Valley Band invites you to “A Celebration of Music”

Don’t miss this community concert on Sunday, March 5!

flutistThis local band of 45 talented musicians has performed in the Hastings area for the last six years.  Under the direction of Rufino Ochoada, the band will feature flute soloist, Rebecca Kuehl, in the performance of “Carmen Fantasie Brillante” by Francois Borne.

2016 Pleasant Hill Gingerbread House Contest

Visit the Pleasant Hill Library and vote for your favorite Gingerbread house!

gingerbread contestDates: December 3, 2016 – December 10, 2016

You can enter your own creation or come to enjoy the display and vote for your favorites. This friendly competition is free and open to all amateur bakers. You may enter as a team, an individual or family – you choose!

Pickup rules and registration forms in advance at the Pleasant Hill Library.

Winners will be announced during the Bells of the Bluffs concert at the Library on December 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

Tenth Annual Art Show at LeDuc

You are invited to LeDuc’s Historic Estate annual art show and fundraiser!

Art Showing Opening Reception
Sunday, 6 November from 2:00pm-6:00pm

LeDuc Historic Estate will honor the creativity of the LeDuc family: writers, artists and musicians at today’s special reception.
Regional artists will be taking over the house, for this event, and transforming it into a gallery for the week.

Hot beverages (seasoned with a touch of liquor) & seasonal sweets will be the theme of the menu.

For the Opening Show, there is a donation of $10.00 at the door.  Admission the rest of the week is free.

If you are not able to attend today’s reception, please visit the art show throughout this week.

We are pleased to announce Katie Imholte of Fladeboe Auctions as this year’s auctioneer.

photo of Katie ImholteKatie Imholte has been influenced by the auction business for over 25 years, as she grew up working for her family’s auction company.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and is a CPA and Business Development Director for a staffing firm in Minneapolis.  Katie advanced her auction career by attending the World Wide College of Auctioneering and holds her Benefit Auctioneer Specialist designation. She is a member of the National Auctioneers Association and the Minnesota State Auctioneers Association.

Katie is deeply involved in the Greater Minneapolis community, as well as globally focused on business and humanitarian causes including local board involvement and volunteer service trips to India, Guatemala and Haiti.   To recognize her efforts to give back, Katie was awarded the MNCPA’s 2010-2011 Public Service Award.  She brings a mix of business acumen, passion and charm to her work.
