“The Synod Senior Band” Concert

Join The Synod Senior Band for a special concert!

“Come and hear what seniors can do!”

The free concert will be at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 2 at 11 a.m.

This 90+ piece band, which was founded in 2005 by and is under the direction of Emmett Stark, is a music ministry to and for seniors.  The band is endorsed by the Minneapolis Synod of the ELCA which provides rehearsal space at Westwood Lutheran in St. Louis Park.  You may remember the band played at OSL some years back.

The band will perform a concert entitled “Marches and Musicals” giving the audience a wide-ranging program of parade and ceremonial marches plus Broadway and movie showtunes.  “As we age, opportunities and the joy of working together on “teams” diminish.  Concert bands, however, allow seniors the joy of “teamwork.””

“This will be a concert you won’t want to miss so please mark your calendar now.  The concert will be open to the public so please invite your friends and neighbors to join you that day.”
