HPAAC Writers Group – April Meeting

HPAAC Writers Group will host author, Kristen Van Risseghem, Tuesday, April 12th, 6:30 p.m. at the LeDuc Historic Estate, in Hastings. Admission is free.

Kristin D Van RisseghemKristen writes young adult urban fantasy. Her first novel was The Guardian, a Sword, & Stilettos, her second novel, The Passage, a Dance & a Little White Dress is being released in April. Kristen will focus on the pathway to publishing but will also answer questions regarding her books. Further information can be found on her website Kristen Van Risseghem

HPAAC’s Writers have been meeting since 2011. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at the LeDuc Historic Estate. All interested parties are welcome. You do not have to be a writer; you do not have to be published, although some participants are published or in the process of publishing. You simply must enjoy the written word and the power that the written word can have, as well as the support and camaraderie of other writers.

Meetings are facilitated by Diane Saed, a former Hastings teacher. Diane is also on staff at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, and Saint Mary’s Graduate School of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Each session is roughly divided into three parts:

  • Introductions and a brief writing activity
  • Discussion of the writing experience and sharing of the writing if willing to do so
  • Discussion of what participants have been reading as well as upcoming literary events

Sessions are held around the dining room table at the LeDuc Historic Estates; bring notebook and a pen. We have had as many as fifteen participants and as few as five, depending on availability. Our next meetings are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12th, and Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016. These sessions are free for HPAAC members and for those that are not HPAAC members, we request a free will offering.

Questions can be directed to Diane Saed at 651-437-7192.

Calling all writers!

hands writingYou don’t need to be an experienced writer; you just need the desire to write and hone your skills.

It’s that time! Tuesday, March 1, 6:30 p.m. at the LeDuc Historic Estate.

“We will be writing about that one moment of awe, inspiration, or realization that crystalized for us and dictated how we then behaved or perceived the world from that instant…..
I know….heavy duty thinking, but I am quite sure that you are all capable of distilling that moment into some beautiful writing
! Between now and then, think about what moment that was!” Diane Saed

In case you cannot join us this Tuesday….the April meeting will be Tuesday the 12th.

Facilitated by Diane Saed (651-437-7192).

Admission is free for HPAAC members and a free-will donation will be accepted from others.
