City of Hastings celebration of the newly renovated Veterans Memorial Levee Park on the RiverWalk

“Please join us next Thursday, May 26 beginning at 4:00 pm for a grand opening celebration of both the Rotary Pavilion and the new Veteran’s Memorial and Levee Park. After a short program to thank all the generous contributors who made this possible, there will be 1/2-hour concert by the River Valley Community Band, followed by the BridgePort Classic Rock Band.”

Lemonade for the Lawnboy: The Musical!

“Lemonade for the Lawnboy: The Musical!” is a new musical written by Greta Grosch and featuring the music of Jimmy Kennedy and Joe Weismann (of “The Smarts”). Based on the real life experiences of Hastings residents Janet Letnes Martin and artist David Cook, “Lemonade for the Lawnboy: The Musical!” explores the magical and often tangled intersection between the genius of art and the self-destruction of addiction.

“Colors of Summer Exhibit” at Orange Dragon Art Gallery

This exhibit will run from May 26 through July 24. Next opening reception will be June 10 from 5-7:30 p.m.

Opening Receptions will take place the 2nd Friday of each month from 5-7:30 p.m. Next receptions: June 10 and July 8. Gallery hours: 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. More Info

Sanctuaries – Churches, Homes, & Gardens Garden Tour

Promoting architecture, design and gardening as art forms! Saturday, July 9, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Tour 1 mid-century church, 3 modern homes (all at least 50 years old) and 5 amazing gardens. Some sites will host workshops (POLLINATOR GARDENING, FLOWER ARRANGING, FUN WITH HERBS) and the tour includes other examples of modernism to admire curbside.
