The River Valley Band will be presenting a concert entitled “Celebrating Community Bands” on Sunday March 5th at 1 p.m. at the Hastings Middle School Auditorium.

Now in its 12th season, the River Valley Band of Hastings continues to deliver entertaining band concert programs to local audiences. This year’s program will also feature special guest artist trumpeter John Huth, a local favorite. “Celebrating Community Bands” will provide the audience not only with a program by the River Valley Band but also by the Rosemount Community Band. Consisting of almost 60 fine musicians, the Rosemount Band will be bringing their own wonderful program for the enjoyment of the audience. Both bands will join on stage for a finale that isn’t seen often, a 110-piece concert band.

So, mark your calendar for Sunday March 5 for “Celebrating Community Bands.”

Free River Valley Band Concert – March

Young People’s Concert – Sunday, March 6 at 3:00 pm

river valley band addThe River Valley Band, under the direction of Tom Maeck invites you to attend a FREE concert. This concert will feature concert band music for the audience but will be of particular interest to children. Musical selections from movies such as “Lion King”, “Star Wars”, and “The Incredibles” will be featured along with other children’s favorites.

Veterans Day Concert

You are INVITED!

Don’t miss this free concert to honor our veterans!

The concert will take place on Sunday, November 7, 1 p.m. at the Hastings Middle School Auditorium. The concert will feature Hasting’s own River Valley Band and the 204th Army Band from Fort Snelling.

River Valley Band is sponsored by the Hastings Prescott Area Arts Council and are grateful for their support along with the generous financial support from the Ruth and George Doffing Foundation. River Valley Band wants to thank the Lyle Russell VFW Post #1210 and the American Legion Post #47 for their organization and support of this concert.

Make Music Day 2019

“Join the worldwide Celebration!”

Bands will perform at local parks throughout the day from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Please visit the City of Hastings website and Facebook pages for locations and complete details.

All ages are welcome. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Roots in Blue Band Concert

Enjoy a great concert by the USAF Roots in Blue Band!

roots in blue bandUnited States Air Force’s Roots in Blue Band will be performing a concert at the Hastings Rotary Pavilion in Veterans Memorial Levee Park.

This free concert will be held on Wednesday, August 23 from 7 to 8:30 PM.

“Roots in Blue is the newest performing group of the USAF Band of Mid-America. This seven piece popular music group features guitar, bass, drums, piano and vocalists, and is sure to impress audiences of all ages.

Located at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, this ensemble is committed to honoring our veterans and active duty members, communicating esprit de corps, motivation and inspiration, and rendering honor to our Airmen and country across a 10-state region in the Midwest and Southern United States.

Roots in Blue celebrates America’s love for rock, country and popular music. A versatile ensemble, Roots in Blue is adaptable for military functions, community concerts, school assemblies and outdoor festivals. Roots in Blue’s programming suits everything from large venues to small acoustic shows. No matter the audience, Roots in Blue is sure to bring you an unforgettable show!”

Saturday,
August 29: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

A combination of a flea market, farmer’s market and art fair with a bake sale thrown in for good measure.
This event is the major annual fundraiser for the Friends of the LeDuc, an active group that provides both volunteers and funding to the site.
Hours are from 9 am – 3 pm, with activities throughout the grounds, including a ‘What’s It’ Display in the Carriage Barn.

FREE Community Concert on the Lawn: Dunquin with our own dear Sherry and Don Ladig

Sunday, August 30: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Concert on the Lawn: Dunquin, featuring Irish music, includes members of our ‘house band,’ the New Pearl Buttons.
Dunquin, led by Sherry & Don Ladig, features Irish tunes and is a favorite band of the LeDuc!
This concert is sponsored by the LeDuc Historic Estate and homemade baked goods, lemonade and coffee will be available for your enjoyment.LeDuc house tours are extended with an additional tour at 5:30 these evenings at regular rates.

In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 409 9th Street West in Hastings.
