Canoe RAVE – Explore the River

canoeRiver Action Volunteer Event – Canoeing
Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

River Action Volunteer Events (RAVEs) are a fun way to explore the river in a way few others do.  All trips couple a restoration service project in a hard to reach area of the river with an adventure tour by National Park Rangers.  Explore the river by Voyageur Canoe, bikes, paddle boats, or take a night hike, learn about significant wildlife and cultural features, and do some good!

For this RAVE, we will explore the southern end of our park! Leave from Hasting’s Jaycee Park aboard our fabulous partner Wilderness Inquiry’s 24-foot voyageur canoes and along the way hear river stories from national park rangers. We’ll land on Prescott Island and do a service project, and then paddle back to shore.

This fun recreation and volunteer restoration project is great for adults and kids over 8 years old. No canoeing experience needed. RAVEs are free events for volunteers – your only ticket is your service to the river!
